You will own the editorial calendar, set quality standards, and oversee the production of reports, articles, briefings and digital content that reflect the rigour and humanity of the work. This is a senior role for an experienced editor or content leader who understands institutional communications and can translate complex education policy into clear, compelling narratives.

What you will do

  • Own and drive the editorial calendar across all channels
  • Set and uphold editorial standards, tone and quality
  • Commission and edit reports, briefings, articles and digital content
  • Lead a small team of writers, contributors and volunteers
  • Ensure all content reflects OBC values, evidence base and partnership tone

What we are looking for

  • Proven editorial leadership in institutional, NGO or media settings
  • Experience translating complex policy or research into accessible content
  • Strong commissioning and line-editing skills
  • Understanding of Kenyan education landscape preferred

Useful but not essential

  • Experience in education or public-sector communications
  • Familiarity with CBC/CBE reform narratives
  • Multilingual capability (English and Swahili)

What you may gain

  • Shape the national narrative around education reform
  • Build a respected institutional voice from the ground up
  • Work alongside senior education and policy leaders

How the selection process works

The process typically involves an initial review, a short conversation, and a relevant task or second conversation before a decision is made. We will explain the next step clearly at each stage.
